25.500 students received a Germany Scholarship in 2016

WIESBADEN – In 2016, 25.500 students received a Germany Scholarship in accordance with the Scholarship Programme Act. This figure, as the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports, represented an 5% year-on-year rise in the number of scholarship holders. Measured against the provisional total number of students in the winter semester of 2016/2017, the share of those on a scholarship was 0.9%. The highest proportion of scholarship holders was recorded in Saarland at 1.6%, the lowest proportions were found in Hamburg (0.3%) and Schleswig-Holstein (0.5%).
